hurt-cd-labelBig Fat Teddy proudly announces the release of his latest CD “Hurt” which culminates six months of false starts, rough recordings and general frustrated musical mayhem. The CD features 21 of BFT’s favorites from country to folk to rockn’ roll.

“I really wanted to create a CD six months ago but it just never did quite come to my likeness and perfection so I decided to remix the few good cuts and make new cuts of what I did not do well before. It was a laborious and sometimes frustrating process but I think the new CD, overall , is good if not among the best of my DIY productions. Without a lot of good production equipment and a good studio, I am always limited, but this time around I think I stretched my desktop studio to the limit and the result was a pretty good sounding CD though admittedly not perfect,” says BFT. Concert Dates & Lyrics

bft-oregon-hill-citybackBelow are release candidates for the upcoming “Born To Run” CD BFT is working on. BFT hopes to release this CD within the next six months but it could be longer. However, BFT would like to post his best mixes so far for this CD here for viewers to listen to. This does not mean the songs you hear here, will actually make the very final cut but rather that they are candidates that could appear on the final CD. Other out-takes can be found in the “In Studio” section of this site.

Keep in mind BFT is working diligently on several songs as well as trying to improve the home studio production techniques he uses for these songs so things are fluid and changing. BFT plans to slowly build a collection of candidates, tweak the best ones until he has something to begin building a CD set with. It’s a time consuming process no less.

kevinGrubbs Drifting in darkness, kissing your sins like the best of men
You reach into yourself so empty, nothing more to befriend
Your heart screams loud, you got your pride, but nobody hears in a forest of trees
Death is glistening but you are so afraid
———————
People run and people hide, people just find it so hard to concede
People just want easy answers, and a free for all
Nobody answers in the darkest hours, can anybody answer at all in their dreams
You just keep trying to walk but everything pulls down your bootstraps
———————-
People want to say you have a happy heart, a happy face, but it’s never so clear
You never can find your way in all the fog, Whose To say Your Wrong?
Standing at the devil’s door like one more huckster, you just drink some more
Death is just another mindless claim in the end, God is there to absolve your sins
————————
REPEAT CHORUS (BOLD)
————————
Now everybody is imprisoned, jailed with a conscience, a memory and your gone There is no more fear in the end. God’s grace is always your friend.

Dedicated to "Bill" and Kevin Grubbs (Former Nascar Driver Found Dead In A Motel From Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound)

I just want a glimmer of a sweet decree and some hope
The world is a daisy dream I could never compose inside of me
We are all junkies fast loose trying to tweak
It’s just a matter of a mind’s disease

————
There was a time when I believed in Jesus, The End and holy Grace
Time and Time again it just ends up like simmering hate
What can I do but drown in everything we forsake
It’s you, it’s me, or it’s something else that law was twisted to fornicate
————–
Mr. Judgment wants to settle some case and exact some score
Mr. Jesus just wants to rise from death out of this world spreading a faith
Everybody seems to want the power, the lord and a five an dime motor race.
—————
You can’t convince me, I Can’t Convince myself of a higher price
Why do we have to crucify a man when we can’t hear what he has to say
I don’t know, but I know we’ll all die in some God’s wrath inside ourselves.
————–
Chase the buffalo, Chase a spirit, Chase the demons inside all of us an all we find is a battlefield littered in waste.
We run after belief like one more breath of life to breathe like addiction.
We run after something day after day even when it’s never kind to us. I wonder if that’s all we can do?
—————
Can anybody answer me, can I ever answer to myself.
Will anybody ever face a question with no answer, is there any respect in a mystery Can there ever be?
We’re just the human lot looking for a sweet decree, rosy colored glasses that make us happy with everything we see
—————-
So many looking to rule man without a doubt, Deem somebody less
So many wars and blood proving something else.
The world wakes up blind time and time again, I just hear the scores of wounds knocking on somebody’s door.
Is there anything else I can believe anymore?
REPEAT FIRST VERSE
Just keep the tiger asleep
Just keep a little faith, I tell myself at the door.

That’s What a Homeless man said behind a 40, Is That so wrong to give us faith like a freak Jesus? Is That all there is to our fate?

————–
Dedicated to my disease – Draft 4 —4-27-2009

CHORUS
Scorned Like A Midnight Lover

Tossed Aside Like A Indefinite Desire

Used Up Like A Convenience, How Am I To Decide
——
I came to you like a child wanting grace

You appeased me like an ace card I could only beg to taste

We jumped into a pool of fire just waiting for our face

It was so easy to love, so easy to reciprocate
————–
Chorus
————–

I only wanted to ask you about the kind of a man that makes you

You only want to escape

I could only cry in my sleep night after night, chasing something so obscure

It was only a dream that died in phrases I Could never know
————–
CHORUS
————–

You cannot seem to know I loved you somehow

I cannot seem to know that I don’t matter anyhow

We cannot seem to agree in the heat of an urge

I can only let you go like an half empty notion like a screaming dirge
————-
Chorus
————-

How Are We To Subsist, How Are We To Love

How Are We To Know

How Are We To Live Indefinitely

[Dedicated to someone I loved and lost And Stephen Stills Yet Again]

(Draft 1)

CHORUS

Everybody out for themselves, Everybody just thinking bout survival

Not Many Want To listen to the quiet soul in each and every one of us

So many run from the night and cold black chasing the light of day

Can There Ever Be Peace In A Man Drowned In Peoples’ Mindless Desires?
—————————–

I run hard looking for answers in you, I run crooked like a snake looking for faith

I have no companions, I have no grace, I have no dreams to chase

I go into life like a fragile sand castle of convictions

I fall on my face like an ocean wave plastering my face

—————
CHORUS

—————
Is There Any Thing I Should Confess To You That You Don’t Already Know

Are There Any Shelters For The Blind?

I Just Wonder How Many Times I’ll Burn Out Before I Die

Can I Hand You My Soul And Confide? Can I Want You Anyway?
———-
CHORUS
———-

I Asked You To Understand, You Shoot Me Dead Like A Crook of A Man

We Just Keep Running Separate Ways Like Streaming Fireworks Anyway

I Wonder If We Could Ever Find Forgiveness Someday

You Are A Restless For A New Life, I Am Just Restless For Something More
———–
CHORUS

CHORUS

Lady, Lady, Dee Just Dee you say so frankly

You find me like a starlet with so many words

I find you like a silent dream quietly beckoning, like rumbles of summer thunder

I Could Have Marched With You Down An Aisle Of Faith But Time Stole Every charm of the notion

Lady Dee, I give you my grace, I give whatever can be for us–dust to dust

—————————–

I am a damaged man from a far off war I can’t  talk about anymore

You are the woman of the party, we are the strangers drifting into a helix of fate

You have fought your own wars, I am so afraid of the fire and scorn in the heat of every heartache

We laugh with cordial moments like a Hollywood stunt straight through upon the stage with so many smiles

——————————-

REPEAT CHORUS

Can’t I just dance with you for a moment and hand you a rose with so many eternal words written in racing prose

Would we ever find a truce between passions in our day Would we ever last forever in dust to dust today

They are Nothing but questions asking in the midnight, we can only share what is true to presence of each moment

I wish I could be so strong enough in all the sins of my weakness, There is no chariot but one to carry us free in a dream.

——————————

REPEAT CHORUS

I fall in a puddle of blood, time and space.

It is too late Lady, Lady Dee, but you smile so warmly with such grace.

Dedicated To Dee Brown 4-2009 Draft 5

Ain’t No Woman I Can Trust Inside Of Me

Walking Faster Than A Man On Crooked Crutch

Running Down My Dreams With Too Much Fuss

_________

CHORUS

Back To Earth 1. 2. 3.  Where Does A Man Like Me Go To Be Free

Back To Earth 1. 2. 3. How Much Does It Have To Hurt To See

—————-
Been Dreaming Like Every Kid On The Block

Been Bigger Than Anything In My Head Just Trying To Beat The Clock

Some Girls Accuse Me, And Some Women I Accuse But Ain’t That The Dynamite Fuse

I Ain’t Spending My Life On Somebody’s String, I Ain’t Giving In

CHORUS

Wake Up In The Morning Screaming From A Dream I Just Had

Somebody Says, You Got To Give Yourself To The Man Or You’re Gonna End Up Sad In The End

I Think To Myself In The Darkest Hour I Ever Had, That Life Is Too Short To Be Too Bad

What Ever Happened To The Honor Of A Man In His Blood Stained Soul

CHORUS

All I Ever Asked Was To Be Understood And Not Under Sold

I Just Wanted A Little Respect And To Grow Old

What I Never Wanted Was To Be Told

I Ain’t No Saint And I Ain’t No Hero, But I Ain’t A Puppet Neither So It Goes

CHORUS

Back To Earth 1. 2. 3.  Where Does A Man Like Me Go To Be Free

Back To Earth 1. 2. 3.  Where Does A Man Like Me Go To Be Free
